India’s Public Sector Enterprises are torch bearers of India’s economy. From merely providing jobs & economic opportunities at local level during post Independence days to becoming India’s Industrial Ambassadors on the global economic platform, the evolution of the PSUs have been truly impressive despite inherent challenges.
Their role in providing industrial base at a time when there was capital & enterprise shortage in the country, providing employment, ushering balanced regional growth and fostering R&D and innovations in capital intensive & strategically sensitive industries & driving Government’s economic agenda cannot be overemphasized.
In the post-COVID era, these PSUs will play a key role in steering the national economy in the right direction. They will be important instruments for realizing the country’s vision of self-reliant economic growth and making of an “ATMANIRNHAR BHARAT”.
